Independent. Quietly run.
Rosemary Cottage is a small, independent and owner-managed residential care home in Jersey, supporting people whose lives have been shaped by long-term drug and alcohol dependency.
Started small. Stayed small.
Rosemary Cottage opened in 2017 and was acquired by its management team in 2023, with a simple, heartfelt vision: people in Jersey living with the long-term effects of drug and alcohol issues, together with mental health challenges, deserve specialist, compassionate care without having to leave the island.
Having witnessed too many Islanders being sent off-Island and losing their connection to home and family, the team set about building a better alternative — drawing on Noel Leonard’s extensive experience in community drug and alcohol services and CBT rehabilitation, and Kelly Tyler’s background in adult social care. They opened a small, genuine home in the peaceful parish of St Mary, a place where residents could feel known, safe and supported.
“Too many Islanders were being sent off-Island, and losing their connection to home and family.”
True to its roots, Rosemary Cottage has deliberately stayed small, with just seven residents. Our approach has evolved through a strong partnership with SMART Recovery, giving residents practical tools for lasting change. Being independent means the decisions about this home are taken by the people who work in it: staff know every resident by name, care is genuinely individual, and the focus stays on dignity, community connection and helping people rebuild their lives here in Jersey.
Rosemary Cottage remains independent and owner-managed. The people who own this home are the people who run it.
At Rosemary Cottage, the best care has always come from staying small.
The house, the garden,
the quiet around it.
A working home for up to seven people, set in St Mary on the quiet north-west of Jersey. Here, the building does some of the work.

St Mary, Jersey.
Rosemary Cottage sits in St Mary, one of Jersey’s quietest rural parishes — a few minutes from the north coast cliffs, surrounded by lanes, fields and old stone walls. The house itself is generous and unhurried: a sun-warmed garden with mature borders and a lawn shaped for sitting outside, a courtyard for slower afternoons, a communal kitchen where the day’s meals are cooked and eaten together, a reading room for the quieter hours, and seven individual bedrooms — each a private space to retreat to.
Care that begins
with you.
Rosemary Cottage is home for people whose lives have been disrupted by alcohol or substance abuse and mental health challenges, and who need somewhere settled to return home to themselves.
Rosemary Cottage is a small, independent and owner-managed care home for up to seven residents. It is for adults recovering from alcohol or substance related issues and mental health conditions. Our objective is to support residents to be the best version of themselves and to lead happy and fulfilled lives in a beautiful setting. The home is run as a “dry” house, meaning that it is an alcohol and substance free zone, providing the best possible chance of sustained recovery.
