At our most recent inspection, in June 2026, the Commission identified no areas for improvement and did not require an improvement plan. The same was true at the inspection before it. All mandatory conditions of our registration were met.

- Training — full compliance with mandatory training, identified as an area of good practice, with specialist training beyond the requirement.
- Personal plans — identified as good practice: individualised, holistic, covering addiction history, medical history and personal goals, with residents involved in reviewing their own.
- Medication — managed by trained staff with ongoing competency checks, secure storage, and records found to be well maintained.
- Recruitment — safe practices firmly established, with full pre-employment checks.
- Leadership — described as strong, with a clear structure and a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- The home itself — clean, homely, well maintained, with bedrooms personalised to residents’ own preferences.
A settled life,
sustained over years.
Rosemary Cottage is a medium- to long-term home. For many of our residents, success is not a discharge date — it is a settled life, sustained over years, with the support that makes that possible. That is the work, and it does not photograph well.
Where recovery and stability allow a return to independent living, we have supported that too, with the same team continuing through RC Home Care. And we have supported Islanders returning from placements off-Island.

Care quality follows the people who deliver it. Our staff have been with us for five and a quarter years on average, every one of them holds a recognised care qualification, and mandatory training compliance stood at 100% at our last inspection.
